The NL takes 2-1 lead in the All Star game history and will have home field advantage in the 2006 World Series. The game started out as a pitchers duel. After back to back singles by Michael Young and Joe Mauer, Albert Pujols grounded out to 2nd scoring Young from third. In the 5th with 2 out and one on, Andruw Jones tripled scoring Giles from first. Then pinch hitter Lance Berkman singled, scoring Jones from third. The NL would add one more run in the 7th, Miguel Tejada hit a sac fly scoring pinch hitter JD Drew from third, making the score 4-0. The only life the Al would show would be in the 8th inning. With runners on 2nd & 3rd, Derek Lee doubles to left scoring both runners, taking the score to the final 4-2. |
